Phil & Tyrone tied the know in the amazing Glasshouse on the Lock at Holiday Inn Camden Lock. Many Mendoza, their photographer and friend, is sharing what made this 80's wedding so special.
"The venue is simply stunning with views to the Regent's Canal. Again, so light and airy... gorgeous."
Well, what can I say? This is not gonna be objective as Phil and Tyrone are not just clients but good friends of mine. So, telling their LOVE story hasn't been just a pleasure, it's been a privilege.
Their wedding day was different, fun, relaxed and unique. From the wedding invitations to the music, the decorations and well... everything. It was an eighties themed wedding so imagine: Rubik cubes everywhere, smurfs, Ghostbusters, even Whitney Houston and David Bowie were there... simply amazing. Months before the wedding day the grooms-to-be asked every guest for their favourite eighties song to play at the reception. But let's start chronologically, shall we?
I met the couple at the venue, The Holiday Inn London Camden Lock. A beautiful and modern venue next to a lovely canal in the popular Camden Town. When I arrived everybody was busy preparing and decorating the venue with -as I already said- 80's details. Then, the getting ready, one of my favourite parts of every wedding I photograph. With its nerves, its funny moments and its tears. Minutes later we said hello to family and friends at the lobby and finally, we took a taxi to get to Islington Town Hall, where the ceremony took place.
Islington Town Hall is just beautiful, full of character, spacious and airy. The perfect place for a civil ceremony in London. The ceremony was lovely.Islington Town Hall's staff were so friendly and kind, and then the speeches of the closest friends made the ceremony even more emotional and special.
After some groups shots, we headed back to the venue in an original manner: a London vintage double decker bus! We even received printed tickets for the trip (only one-way though :D).
And finally, the reception, food, drinks, toasts, music and fun. The venue is simply stunning with views to the Regent's Canal. Again, so light and airy... gorgeous.
I could talk about this wedding for ages but I think I'm gonna leave it here so you can enjoy the slideshow and the images. All I have left to say is a huge thank you to Phil and Tyrone for letting me tell their beautiful LOVE story. Thank you guys!
